The spokesperson for Junts per Reus, Teresa Pallarès, has called for direct bus services to Barcelona to mitigate the impact of upcoming railway works in the Garraf tunnels.

Starting March 16, the renovation works are expected to last at least three months. The alternative plan proposed by Renfe and Adif forces passengers into multiple transfers or a significantly longer train journey via Vilafranca del Penedès, adding at least 40 minutes to the trip.

"It is a long, uncomfortable journey, unfit for an essential public service in the 21st century. Reus citizens cannot remain second-class users."

The party is also demanding free rail travel for the duration of the disruption and an increase in Avant high-speed train frequencies from the Camp de Tarragona station to provide efficient alternatives for commuters.
