The Generalitat de Catalunya will allocate over 1.5 million euros from its budget to complete the Casa dels Oficis in Reus, a key training facility for the region.

The financial contribution, resulting from an amendment to the budget's accompanying law and supported by ERC, the PSC, and the Comuns, will enable the completion of the building's ground floor and reception, as well as the setup of classrooms and training spaces on the first floor.
The goal is for the Casa dels Oficis to become a reality by 2027. The first phase of the project has already been completed with a 450,000 euro grant from the Tarragona Provincial Council. In total, the investment will exceed 2 million euros for an area of 860 square meters, with future expansion possibilities.
The Councilor for Business, Training, and Employment, Òscar Subirats, highlighted that the project addresses the need to meet the demands of the business community, improve professional profiles, facilitate generational succession, and cover workers' training requirements.
The facility already serves as a link between professional guilds and businesses, including a pilot program with the Construction Guild to train bricklayers and a steering committee defining its public-private governance model.
Representatives from ERC have claimed credit for securing this funding, viewing the Casa dels Oficis as a useful and exportable model due to its strategic alliance between social and economic agents, with a positive impact on Reus, the Baix Camp, and the entire region.
