The municipality of La Selva del Camp will experience a new edition of its Summer Festival, scheduled from May 29th to 31st and June 5th to 8th. The celebration will include around thirty activities designed for all audiences. Music will be a central element, with concerts, parades, and performances taking place in various locations throughout the town.
The first weekend will kick off with traditional events such as the festival bell-ringing from the bell tower, the Giants' Gathering, and the Guest Parade, which this year will feature a secret element from the Catalan Countries.
From June 5th onwards, the festivities will continue with a musical opening speech by Quim Vila, followed by the main concert featuring Els Catarres, accompanied by DJs Trapella and Aleix Ballesté. The following day, the Hort d’Iglésies gardens will host a popular rice-cooking event ('arrossada') and a festive day filled with music and entertainment.
Sunday, June 7th, will be marked by the Festival Mass, the festive procession, and a 'casteller' (human tower) performance with the participation of Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona and Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, preceding the grand firework display.
The festival will conclude on Monday, June 8th, with a family-focused day featuring water inflatables, a foam party, and a traditional 'sardana' dance. Local organizations will also contribute with activities like 'Correbars' (a pub crawl), 'correfoc' (fire run), concerts, and theatrical performances. The City Council has revived the tradition of hanging banners on balconies to decorate the town during this eagerly awaited period.
