La Selva del Camp will host the tenth edition of the Festa pel Territori on Sunday, May 10, an event returning to its origins to reflect on the current development model and territorial challenges.

This celebration, taking place at Hort d’Iglésies, is conceived as a moment to take stock, reaffirm principles, and project the future of territorial defense. Over a decade, the Festa has consolidated itself as a meeting point for collectives, entities, and individuals committed to sustainability.
This year's edition, under the slogan “The progress that kills us,” seeks to question the current development model, often presented as inevitable, but with profound social, environmental, and territorial consequences. Topics such as the agri-food model, waste management, megaprojects, and the deployment of renewable energies will be addressed.
This reflection is particularly relevant in the Camp de Tarragona, where projects like the Very High Voltage (MAT) line and the expansion of the petrochemical industry highlight the tensions between economic growth and territorial sustainability. In this context, La Selva del Camp becomes an epicenter of mobilization and resistance.
The day will include the participation of various experts, such as a doctor in geography, an activist for a change in the renewable energy model, and an expert in electromagnetic fields and artificial intelligence, who will offer complementary academic and activist perspectives on these dynamics.
The program will combine discussion spaces with participatory activities, including talks, a round table, workshops, live music, and an entities fair. A popular lunch with local and organic products will also be organized, along with a participatory session of the Olla del Camp, linked to the agroecological movement.
The Festa pel Territori is conceived as a tool to foster collaboration, strengthen networks, and articulate collective responses to current challenges, open to entities, collectives, and anyone interested in territorial defense.
