The Mont-roig del Camp City Council has launched its new autumn-winter 2026-2027 program, aimed at the municipality's senior citizens. The program offers over 40 free activities designed to promote active aging, emotional well-being, creativity, learning, physical activity, and social relationships among residents over 65 years old.
The season includes workshops on painting, bobbin lace, creative sewing, basketry, crafts, Catalan language, body and breathing awareness, memory, poetic writing, and shared reading. Courses on emotional well-being, film clubs, Christmas floral art, current affairs discussions, and activities at the La Florida urban garden are also offered.
The program is complemented by a series of talks on community action at the community centers, addressing topics such as community resources, autonomy, dependency, care, and postural health. Additionally, the University Extension Classrooms for Seniors from URV will offer lectures on culture, science, health, technology, and history in Miami Platja and Mont-roig del Camp.
All activities are free and primarily intended for residents over 65 years old registered in the municipality. Initial pre-registration is mandatory and can be completed in person at the municipal community centers between September 21 and 24, 2026. In Mont-roig del Camp, hours will be from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while in Miami Platja, it will be from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with extended afternoon hours on September 21 and 23 (4:00 PM to 6:00 PM). Applications can also be submitted online through the City Council's website.
For workshops or activities with limited capacity, places will be assigned by public lottery on October 1st at 11:30 AM at the Casal. The final lists of admitted participants will be confirmed before the courses begin.
