A dangerous overtake on the T-704 road, near Vilaplana, has highlighted the risks cyclists face on the road. Footage recorded by one of the affected cyclists shows a car invading the opposite lane on a sharp, blind curve.
The vehicle's maneuver endangered a group of four cyclists. The car occupied a large part of the oncoming lane, coming face-to-face with two cyclists traveling in the opposite direction. One of them was wearing a camera and managed to record the entire incident.
This incident once again brings the focus to cyclist safety on the roads of Tarragona province. This year, two cyclists have already died in accidents in the region.

The first fatal accident occurred on April 17 in l'Ametlla de Mar, on the TV-3025, where a 54-year-old man lost his life after falling from his electric bicycle. Shortly after, on April 23, a cyclist was killed by a car in Aiguamúrcia, on the TP-2002. The responsible driver fled but was arrested hours later.
