Around 300 people gathered in Montbrió del Camp this Sunday to protest against a wind farm project planned between the municipalities of Montbrió and Riudecanyes.

The demonstration consisted of eight simultaneous marches arriving from nearby towns such as Cambrils and Mont-roig del Camp. Organized by the Aturem els Molins platform, the protesters argue that the six planned turbines would cause 'unbearable' damage to the local landscape and the traditional agricultural mosaic of the Baix Camp region.

"This is not about decarbonization; it is about the interests of big capital against people and the territory."

The project has already received an unfavorable report from the Territorial Urbanism Commission. Local mayors and environmental groups like GEPEC-EdC supported the march, while activists confirmed they have submitted over 2,500 formal objections to the Generalitat de Catalunya to halt the development.
