The municipal company REDESSA has opened the application period for the 6th edition of its Incubator, a project dedicated to supporting emerging companies. The deadline to participate is September 15th, and applications can be submitted via REDESSA's website.
The main novelty this year is the introduction of a specific acceleration program designed for companies that are already incorporated and have started sales, aiming to boost their growth (scalability). Previously, the program primarily targeted early-stage entrepreneurial initiatives with a scientific or technological focus.
Josep Baiges, Councillor for Economic Promotion, Innovation, and Knowledge and CEO of REDESSA, emphasized the importance of personalized support. The program will feature expert mentors such as Juli Tecles (Financial Director of Borges International Group), Joan Ruiz (Head of R&D+i at Grup Unió), and Núria Amigó (CEO and co-founder of Biosfer Teslab), who will provide guidance during crucial stages for entrepreneurs.
This edition also marks the beginning of a collaboration with the Official College of Physicians of Tarragona (COMT). Healthcare-focused projects will receive support from REDESSA, combining the clinical knowledge and credibility of the COMT with REDESSA's expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship. Sergi Boada, President of the COMT, highlighted the shared goal of improving people's health.
The new acceleration program will include an initial diagnosis, objective setting, and a personalized work plan covering finance, operations, commercial strategy, team organization, innovation, and technology. It will also offer support for proof-of-concept tests, connections with investors and sector hubs, and access to REDESSA's facilities.
In parallel, the incubator program will continue to provide specialized training in market and product validation, personalized mentoring, legal and fiscal advice, guidance on seeking funding, and access to coworking spaces.
The timeline includes project evaluation from September 15th to October 15th, work plan definition from October 15th to December 15th, and training and mentoring sessions from January to May 2027.
The REDESSA Incubator has helped position Reus as the 6th city in Catalonia for start-up creation. Since its inception, it has received 145 applications, supported 71 projects, facilitated the incorporation of 30 start-ups, created over 200 jobs, and helped participating companies secure more than 4.5 million euros in investment.
