The Reus City Council has officially awarded Gallego Arg SLP the contract to design the renaturalization project for the Eduard Toda School playground this February.

The contract, valued at 10,890 euros, marks the fifth climate shelter project initiated by the local government in Reus. Similar transformations have already been completed at the General Prim, Pompeu Fabra, Marià Fortuny, and Teresa Miquel schools.
The initiative aims to adapt educational spaces to rising temperatures using nature-based solutions. These green areas are designed to improve comfort for students and may also serve as public cooling zones for the community outside of school hours.
The project is part of the RENATUReus strategy, supported by European Next Generation funds. It focuses on increasing vegetation, improving water management through sustainable drainage systems, and creating shaded areas to mitigate the urban heat island effect.
