The Reus City Council organized a minute of silence this Monday at 12:00 PM in Plaça del Mercadal to condemn the recent murder of a woman in Burgos.

The victim, a 58-year-old woman, was allegedly killed by her former partner on March 10. According to the Ministry of Equality, 11 women have been murdered in 2026, totaling 1,354 victims since official records began in 2003.
Local authorities emphasize that the 900 900 120 helpline provides 24/7 confidential support. In Reus, specialized help is available at the Women's Information and Care Service (SIAD) and the Victim Support Office (OAV) located at the Guàrdia Urbana station.
