The Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya and European institutions are launching a new edition of EduMèdia this Monday in Reus, aiming to train students from 100 schools throughout 2026.

The initiative, supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament, begins on March 16 at the Lluís Domènech i Montaner Institute. Registered journalists will lead free workshops designed to provide high school students with tools to navigate the challenges of artificial intelligence and information saturation.

"Media education cannot be complementary; it must be structural. Forming critical citizens is essential for public debate."

Joan Maria Morros · Dean of the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya
Over its 17-year history, EduMèdia has reached more than 27,500 students. Following the sessions in Reus, the program will expand to Roda de Berà in April, focusing on verifying content related to migration, democracy, and the environment.
