The URV Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in Reus inaugurated new laboratories and high-tech equipment this Wednesday, following a total investment of 1.5 million euros.

The renovation of the Sant Llorenç street building includes two new labs and a computer room. This project was funded by the Ministry of Health to accommodate a 10% increase in Medicine degree placements, rising from 125 to 137 students.
New educational tools have also been acquired, including virtual reality simulators and laparoscopy training devices for the Sant Joan de Reus and Joan XXIII de Tarragona hospitals, ensuring high-quality medical training.

"We hope to have good news soon regarding the need for new, larger facilities that are better suited to modern times."

Josep Pallarès · URV Rector
Looking ahead, the URV is planning to relocate the faculty to the Bellissens campus. Credit has already been reserved for 2026 to begin the technical reports for the new building project.
