The city of Reus has launched the "Reus va al Concurs" campaign, an initiative aimed at mobilizing public support for the Xiquets de Reus in their upcoming participation in the 2026 Castells Competition. The presentation event took place this morning, September 15, 2026, in the Plaça del Mercadal, in front of the City Hall entrance.
The event was attended by Daniel Recasens, Councilor for Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Reus City Council; Lluís Domingo, a member of the board of directors of Xiquets de Reus; and Joan Ferran, head of structures for the same 'castellera' group. All agreed on the importance of citizen involvement for the group's success in this significant event.
The campaign seeks not only to encourage the 'castellers' but also to promote 'castellera' culture in the city and involve the entire population in the effort and enthusiasm that preparation for an event of this magnitude entails.
