The town of Riudoms celebrated the official debut of the Bou de Riudoms this Sunday, March 22, marking the arrival of a new traditional fire beast to the local festive heritage.

The event, held at the Church Square, brought together the entire local parade to welcome the new figure. Roger Nogués Llop, the builder and president of the association, emphasized the importance of respecting and preserving folk traditions during the ceremony in front of Sant Jaume parish.

"It is important to love, care for, and respect traditions."

The Bou was blessed by Father Emmanuel Kalijinabo and sponsored by traditional groups from Tarragona and Falset. The celebration included a joint fire display and fireworks, showcasing the beast's 30 pyrotechnic points and its impressive fiberglass structure.
This project is the result of four years of work by the Bou de Riudoms Association. The figure features a leather collar made by Emilio Arbonés and will be accompanied by a group of drummers using handcrafted instruments by Xixo Luthier, becoming a new symbol for the Baix Camp region.
