The Consell Comarcal del Baix Camp and the Patronat de Turisme Muntanyes de la Costa Daurada invite you to discover the "Paths steeped in history" route, an itinerary designed to explore two villages from the ancient Barony of Escornalbou, l'Argentera and Duesaigües, and visit its emblematic castle-monastery.
This hike offers an experience combining heritage, nature, and landscape. The ascent to the castle from l'Argentera follows an old stone-paved path, surrounded by lush vegetation providing shade and resting spots.
The route begins south of l'Argentera. After crossing a small ravine, the path gently ascends along the old stone-paved track, well-preserved, and runs along the shady slope of the Escornalbou mountain, accompanied by abundant vegetation.
Reaching the Escornalbou hill offers splendid panoramic views and the chance to visit the monumental complex. The descent towards Duesaigües partially follows the PR trail parallel to the Rasa de Vilamanya, an area of great scenic value.
Before reaching Duesaigües, the route rejoins the old cart track that connected to l'Argentera, following the course of the Barranc Reial to the end of the journey.
The route covers a distance of 6.5 km, takes approximately 2 hours, and is of low difficulty, with a positive elevation gain of 300 meters. It is suitable for families with children but not for mountain biking. It is not a circular route.
