The Catalan Government has relocated the SEM medical helicopter to Reus this March after the Móra d'Ebre helipad failed to meet European safety standards.

The relocation follows a safety audit by the new operator, which found that the current facilities in Ribera d'Ebre have been non-compliant since 2015. Authorities are now searching for a temporary site within the county to ensure the service remains local.
The PSC party confirmed that funding is available for a new permanent helipad, but the Móra d'Ebre City Council must provide suitable land that meets technical and operational requirements away from the urban center.
