The city of Reus has secured a prominent presence in the VI Spanish Burger Championship, with two proposals aspiring to be the best in Spain. This competition, promoted by the Best Burger Spain platform, also features the participation of three other establishments from the Camp de Tarragona region, reinforcing the gastronomic weight of the territory.
One of the candidates from Reus is the EmeriTarrako, created by the restaurant Dealers Smash Burger Reus. This creation stands out for using artisan brioche bread and double smash meat, incorporating cheeses and complements with products that directly reference the territory and its Roman history.
The region's commitment is reinforced with five candidacies from Camp de Tarragona, demonstrating the quality and innovation of local cuisine in the 'smash burger' format.
The second proposal from Reus is the Dirty Maple Smash, from the establishment Doma Burgers. This burger seeks the perfect balance between sweet, smoky, and spicy flavors, combining double smash meat, cheddar cheese, bacon with maple syrup, caramelized onion, and a proprietary sauce.
The Camp de Tarragona region adds other notable participants. From Calafell, Frankfurt Stars competes with its Smash Club, while in Tarragona, the restaurant Burguitos presents the Easy Burger, based on aged meat and a combination of cheeses and proprietary sauces. The public can vote for the entries until March 1 via the official championship website.
