The balance sheet presentation took place at Plaça Antoni Correig, in the Mare Molas neighborhood, showing an average of 110 interventions per neighborhood. For the second year of operation, authorities announced the incorporation of Reus Transport into the plan, which will assume the cleaning and maintenance of public transport shelters and the renewal of informational signage.
The total of 4,500 actions is broken down into 1,766 cleaning interventions, 883 in public spaces, 1,231 in green areas, and 620 related to the water network. Regarding public spaces, the work focused on asphalt paving, pothole repair, and the renewal of paving slabs. Lighting devices were also reinforced by increasing light intensity and expanding light points.
The cleaning operation included street sweeping, cleaning of lampposts and traffic lights, and monitoring of children's playgrounds. Furthermore, the interior and exterior of containers were cleaned, graffiti was removed, and maintenance of landscaped areas was carried out, including tree pruning and weed control.
“"The degree of satisfaction among residents is very high regarding the state of public roads. The municipality is well cared for, although there are always things to do in a city of 110,000 inhabitants."
Mayor Sandra Guaita recalled that the plan was launched to carry out “intensive and sustained actions over time,” concentrated in 15-day periods in each neighborhood. Councillor Daniel Marcos added that a special cleaning operation, separate from the ordinary one, has been implemented, featuring pressure washing and cleaning of storm drains.
The municipal government also reported that the citizen application for reporting incidents, whose project has already been awarded, will begin development starting in March, facilitating communication between residents and municipal services.
