The Generalitat Firefighters had to preventively evacuate 44 residents in Reus on Saturday night due to smoke generated by the reignition of the fire at the Cabo Norte company.

The fire, which had been deemed under control after breaking out on Saturday morning, reignited around 11:30 PM at the industrial warehouse located at 18, Alcalde Pascual Street. The reactivation occurred as the insulation of the roof, which had almost completely collapsed, caught fire.

"With water, we cool down and reduce the smoke, but we cannot fully extinguish the interior."

Nine units of the Generalitat Firefighters are working again on extinction tasks. The fire affects the interior insulation, covered with metal sheeting both above and below, complicating the extinguishing efforts.
Personnel continue to cool the area with water to contain the fire and reduce the amount of smoke. To complete the extinction, the Firefighters are arranging for the arrival of specialized machinery to dismantle the affected roof.
The original fire broke out on Saturday morning and initially mobilized up to 17 ground units to put out the flames, which burned refrigeration chambers and engines at the Cabo Norte frozen food company.
