Driver Dies After Multi-Vehicle Accident on the AP-7 Highway

The victim, a 36-year-old woman residing in Amposta, was transferred to the Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona following the eight-vehicle collision.

A 36-year-old woman from Amposta died at the Joan XXIII Hospital in Tarragona after sustaining critical injuries in a multi-vehicle accident on the AP-7 highway in Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred around 8:25 PM (20:25h) at kilometer marker 279 of the motorway, heading south. According to the Catalan Traffic Service (Servei Català de Trànsit), up to eight vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, and a truck, were involved in the collision.
The victim was the driver of one of the cars involved and was one of two people initially reported in critical condition. The accident resulted in a total of ten people injured, with one in serious condition and seven others sustaining minor injuries.

With this victim, a 36-year-old woman resident of Amposta, the number of people who have lost their lives on Catalan roads this 2025 now stands at 140.

The woman was rushed to the Tarragona hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The exact causes of the accident remain under investigation by the competent authorities.
