The Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant City Council started works this week to install a generator set that will guarantee emergency electrical supply to four key municipal facilities.

The project, titled 'Reserve Supply for the Municipal Facilities Zone,' involves constructing a new building on Alamanda street, next to the existing transformer station, where the generator will be housed. This system is vital for keeping the Casa de la Vila (Town Hall), the Casal d'avis (Senior Center), the day center, and the future elderly residence in l'Hospitalet de l'Infant operational during power outages.
The tasks also include the necessary new electrical wiring to connect the generator set building with the general low-voltage panels of each facility. The goal is to optimize the use of the generator, which the council already owns, by installing it permanently and ensuring its functionality for public municipal services.

"This action is a key investment to guarantee the continuity of essential municipal services, especially in sensitive facilities such as the Casal d'avis, the day center, and the residence for the elderly. Having a reserve electrical supply system allows us to reinforce the municipality's security and response capacity in the face of possible emergencies."
