The initiative aims to provide mothers with accessible and suitable spaces to breastfeed their babies when needed. In this initial phase, the network includes L’Arrossera as a public space and the collaboration of twelve local commercial establishments.
Participating establishments are: Calçats Príncep, Carnisseria la Maña, Farmàcia Albiol, Farmàcia Manolo, Farmàcia Matilde, Fruites i Verdures Esther, Granja Gil, Hotel Rull, Kako’s, Madama, Perspectiva Foto, and Sushi MC. These spaces will be clearly identified for easy recognition.
The mayor of Deltebre, Lluís Soler, highlighted the goal of making Deltebre a municipality that supports families and improves their quality of life. He thanked FECOTUR and the participating businesses for their involvement in raising awareness throughout the municipality.
The Councilor for Childhood, Elderly, and Welfare, Vicky Albiol, emphasized that the network further supports breastfeeding and provides resources for mothers and families, ensuring nearby spaces where mothers can breastfeed comfortably and with peace of mind.
The launch of these spaces coincides with the fourth Deltebre Breastfeeding Conference, to be held on Friday, October 9th, at L’Arrossera starting at 6 PM. This year's conference will focus on the community dimension of breastfeeding and the need to expand support spaces beyond the strictly healthcare sector.
These initiatives are part of an ongoing effort by the Deltebre City Council throughout the year to promote the well-being, health, and quality of life of its citizens.
