The Ebro Branch of the Architects' Association of Catalonia has opened a competition to design its new headquarters and urbanize the surrounding area in the Old Town of Tortosa.

The initiative aims to select the best architectural proposal for the urban regeneration of an area of high heritage value. The chosen site is located at a strategic point between the Cathedral and the Suda Castle, acting as a link between the Cathedral, Castle, and Sant Jaume neighborhoods.
The procedure will be carried out in two rounds. In the first phase, open to registered architects, participants must submit a brief proposal of the strategy to be followed. The deadline for submitting offers is October 30, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
The estimated budget for the building and urbanization works is 2,751,800 euros, while the fees set for the project are 289,183.82 euros. The project has the collaboration and partial funding of the Tortosa City Council for the public space urbanization tasks.
For those interested, two site visits have been scheduled for September 1 and September 15, 2026, both at 11:00 AM, with the meeting point at the Absis Square.
