The Deltebre City Council has passed a new ordinance to regulate tourist housing (HUT) licenses through quality standards and public competition.

The regulation introduces a scoring system where properties must achieve at least 60 out of 100 points. Criteria include environmental sustainability and social impact. Furthermore, apartments in shared buildings will now require the formal consent of the neighbors' association.

"We will have a clear, transparent, and balanced regulatory framework to guarantee quality and sustainable tourism in our environment."

Lluís Soler · Mayor of Deltebre
New licenses will be valid for five years. Existing holiday rentals have been granted a five-year transition period to comply with the new rules or cease operations, following Catalan Government regional laws.
