This new plan represents a significant advance in the municipal strategy, focusing on areas that had previously been less developed. Among the novelties, it includes digital support for women's associations, the expansion of childcare services during public events, the promotion of female leadership within the municipal structure, the fostering of work-life balance and co-responsibility, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
The document is the result of an exhaustive participatory process, which has involved the collaboration of local entities, women's associations, educational centers, and various municipal services. Its elaboration has received support from the URV Foundation and the Intercultural Education and Gender Research Group (GREDI). Based on a detailed diagnosis that analyzes the situation of women in fields such as employment, health, and security, the plan defines new actions and reviews existing policies.
“"This Plan is a roadmap that should allow us to consolidate and strengthen the actions we are already developing, but also to advance in those areas where more effort is needed."
Beyond the approval of this plan, the plenary session also included the presentation of the annual report by the ombudswoman, which recorded 22 actions during the last year. Likewise, the comprehensive renovation of public lighting with LED technology was approved, along with a motion in defense of rural and maritime development, within the framework of the LEADER program, in view of the future European financial framework.
