The Deltebre Town Council has officially registered 9,454 objections against the new coastal boundary proposal promoted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition, marking a historic level of local opposition.

In just twenty days, the community of Deltebre organized a massive response to the central government's plans. Coordinated by the local Ombudsman and the #DeltebreTerritori Defense Council, the campaign saw participation from thousands of residents, business owners, and landholders across the Baix Ebre region.

"We are nearly ten thousand voices clearly stating that Deltebre will not resign; we do not accept projects that risk the Delta's future."

Lluís Soler · Mayor of Deltebre
Mayor Lluís Soler announced that the council's formal objection serves as a legal precursor to a potential lawsuit against the Spanish State. The local government demands the immediate suspension of the file, arguing that it lacks technical merit and fails to incorporate previous consensus reached with the territory.
This mobilization exceeds the 8,877 objections filed in 2021 against the Ebro Delta Protection Plan. Local representatives insist that any new boundary must be based on active listening and effective coastal defense measures rather than unilateral administrative decisions.
