The Civil Guard has arrested two men in L'Ametlla de Mar (Baix Ebre) for alleged receiving stolen goods, seizing nearly 1,000 kilograms of copper cable.

The arrested individuals, who were transporting the material in a van, could not justify its lawful origin. The arrest occurred during a police checkpoint on the N-340 early Friday morning.
During the vehicle search, officers located a large quantity of copper cable cut into sections to facilitate transport. The material showed signs of dirt and manipulation, indicating a possible illicit source.
The two men, aged 31 and 37, have been handed over to the duty investigating court in Tortosa to continue with the investigation.
