The CAT112 emergency service handled 46,130 operational calls from the Terres de l'Ebre region last year, marking a 13.3% increase compared to the previous period.

The rise is attributed to better public awareness and new telecare technologies. Health assistance accounted for 31% of calls, while security and traffic represented 27% and 20% respectively. Weather-related calls saw the most dramatic spike, growing by 113% due to severe autumn flooding.

"Every territory functions differently."
