Junts per Tortosa councilor Joan Carles Bonfill explained that the municipal group requested access to the administrative file after the mayor stated in the municipal plenary session on May 4th that a technical report existed justifying the action for safety reasons and that the rest of the road would be executed in phases according to technical criteria. "After analyzing all the documentation in the file, we can state that this justification does not appear in any document," Bonfill asserted.
As detailed by the councilor, the technical report included in the file describes a global action on several municipal roads in poor condition and establishes general repair criteria. For the specific case of the Travessera road, only a renewal and repair of the surface in a determined section is planned, with no reference to prioritization for safety reasons or phased execution of the rest of the roadway.
"There is no technical report justifying that this section should have been executed before the rest, nor any document establishing a phased plan as explained in the plenary session," he remarked. For Junts per Tortosa, the situation raises questions that Mar Lleixà should clarify publicly. "If this technical justification existed, why is it not in the file? And if it is not, why was this explanation given in the plenary session?" Bonfill asked.
The municipal group also highlighted that there was still budgetary availability within the allocation for municipal roads and that, despite this, the decision was not made to complete the action on the entire road. "We do not make interpretations; we limit ourselves to what the file says. And the file does not include the justification that was publicly given. Official documents contradict the explanations the mayor gave in the plenary session," the councilor stated.
In light of these facts, Junts per Tortosa demands that the mayor rectify her statements and provide public explanations to the citizens. "We ask that she acknowledge that the statements she made in the plenary session do not correspond to the content of the file, that she rectify and assume political responsibility. At the very least, she should apologize to the citizens from the same municipal plenary session where she provided information that official documentation does not support," Bonfill concluded.
