The measure benefits the neighborhoods of Ampolla Mar, Les Palmeres, and Roqué Mar. Previously, residents had to rely on communal mailboxes, a system the local government deemed inefficient. The change follows technical negotiations that led to these areas being officially recognized as an extension of the urban center.
Local authorities emphasized that reliable postal service is vital for social equity, particularly for elderly residents or those with limited mobility. The Territory Management department worked closely with postal officials to ensure the service matches the standards of the town center.
To ensure a smooth transition, homeowners are reminded to install mailboxes accessible from the street and ensure house numbers are clearly visible. The council stated it will continue working to expand home delivery to all remaining residential developments in the Baix Ebre municipality.
