The prominent activist Manolo Tomàs, spokesperson for the Platform in Defense of the Ebro (PDE), will be honored in Tortosa on February 23 with the 2025 Valor Ebrenc Award.

The event, organized by the newspaper Setmanari l'Ebre, will take place at the Hotel Corona. This award recognizes Tomàs as the most visible face of a social movement that successfully fought against the National Hydrological Plan and celebrated its 25th anniversary last September.
The trophy, a glass water drop, represents the river's identity. The ceremony will be attended by the Mayor of Tortosa, Mar Lleixà, and the Generalitat delegate, Joan Castor Gonell. Tomàs joins previous winners such as journalist Josep Lluís Villa and actor Pere Ponce.
