The town of Jesús, in Tortosa, officially opened its new medical center this February 2026, representing a total investment of 1,632,813 euros.

The new facility includes 9 clinical spaces: four for general medicine, four for nursing, and a multipurpose room for emergencies and blood tests. It also features a dedicated classroom for community health education and disease prevention programs.

"Primary care is the gateway to the health system. If we have a strong primary care, the entire health system wins."

Joan Castor Gonell · Government Delegate in Terres de l'Ebre
The center serves approximately 3,000 users within the Tortosa Oest health area. Local authorities, including Mayor Víctor Ferrando, emphasized that the modern infrastructure will help attract medical talent and provide more humane care for the community.
