Local artist Domingo Basco is the creator of the official poster, a work that merges the iconic image of the cherry with distinctive elements of the town, highlighting the connection between tradition, territory, and the unique culture of Paüls.
The festival, which has become a significant event both municipally and regionally, focuses on one of the area's most emblematic products. The streets of Paüls will once again transform into a large market offering local produce, tastings, cultural activities, and family entertainment.
The event will promote direct sales of local produce and feature a diverse entertainment and cultural program that celebrates the identity of Paüls and its privileged natural surroundings in the Ports mountain range. The detailed schedule will be announced soon.
Among the highlights for Saturday, June 6, is a sheep shearing demonstration. In the afternoon, the official inauguration will be attended by Noemí Llauradó Sans, president of the Tarragona Provincial Council. The day will conclude with awards for the best local cherry, followed by a communal dinner, a concert, and the youth party Cherry Boom Vol.5, organized by the Associació de Joves de Paüls.
Sunday, June 7, will include pottery workshops, children's activities, and a gastronomic showcooking. The traditional VI Tirada de Pinyol (stone spitting contest), family theater, and various musical performances will also take place. The festival will conclude with a performance by La Rondalla dels Quicos in the Plaça Major.
“"The Cherry Festival is one of the most important moments in the town's festive calendar. We want to celebrate and enjoy, once again, our festival and one of the best cherries in the country."
The mayor of Paüls, Enric Adell, emphasized that the festival is a celebration of the landscape, agricultural work, and the collective identity of the municipality.
