This set of municipal roads presents pathologies caused by the mechanical exhaustion of the pavement package itself, aggravated by climatic inclemencies over time, including the crossing of water runoff from ravines that intercept the road, causing the punctual formation of potholes and loss of section on the shoulders. The state of conservation has become precarious and, although the public road maintenance service has been carrying out punctual repair actions, the set no longer accepts them.

The Tortosa City Council has stated that the paving of several rural roads, including Travessera, is based on technical criteria and not on preferential treatment, following insinuations from Junts per Tortosa.
The Junts per Tortosa political group issued a press release last Thursday, implying a possible preferential treatment in the paving of the Costa del Cèlio road, which could benefit a property belonging to the mayor, Mar Lleixà. However, this accusation is based on a neighborhood complaint that, according to municipal sources, goes no further than mere presumptions.
The same municipal sources have clarified that the road improvement work is collective in nature and affects several properties, forming part of an already scheduled program of repairs. Furthermore, they emphasized that the conditioning of the Costa del Cèlio, Codines de Coleto, Sant Jordi, and Travessera roads is supported by rigorous technical criteria.
The justifying report for the minor contract tender, with an approximate value of 35,000 euros, carried out by the Municipal Maintenance and Logistics Service, details the necessity of these works. This documentation explains that the municipal roads suffer significant deterioration due to mechanical wear and climatic conditions, which have caused potholes and loss of section on the shoulders.
It should be noted that the mayor's property is located on the Travessera road, and not on the Costa del Cèlio, as initially implied. The works on the Travessera section amount to 4,400 euros, and it is planned to complete the work along its entire length, as well as on the other affected roads.
