Conservation works, with a budget exceeding 128,000 euros, have allowed for the complete renovation of the roof and structural consolidation of the historic building.

The Sant Jeroni hermitage in Móra d'Ebre has been fully restored, with an investment of 128,617 euros, and now showcases its renewed appearance after the conservation works.

The restoration of the Sant Jeroni hermitage in Móra d'Ebre has been successfully completed, returning this important heritage element to its former splendor. The inauguration ceremony for the works took place on May 1st, promoted by the Diocese of Tortosa through the Parish of Sant Joan Baptista of Móra d'Ebre.

During the ceremony, the mayor of Móra d'Ebre emphasized the hermitage's importance as a symbol of local identity and highlighted the collective effort between institutions and entities to make the restoration possible. He also reaffirmed the municipal commitment to preserving the heritage, culture, and traditions of the locality.
From the Diocese of Tortosa, it was stressed that this intervention has been crucial for safeguarding a heritage element of great historical, cultural, and landscape value. The action ensures the structural safety of the building and guarantees the continuity of its traditional uses, reinforcing the commitment of the Parish of Sant Joan Baptista and the Diocese itself to the conservation of cultural heritage and the community.
Key interventions included the complete replacement of the roof, the consolidation and punctual replacement of deteriorated wooden beams, treatment against woodworm, and the repair of cracks and fissures. The total budget for the works amounted to 128,617.90 euros.
The funding for this project was made possible by contributions from various entities, including the Department of Culture of the Generalitat, the Diputació de Tarragona, the Directorate General of Religious Affairs, the Móra d'Ebre City Council, the Patronat d’Amics de Sant Jeroni, and the Diocese of Tortosa.
