The Government and the Comuns parliamentary group formalized an agreement this Thursday for the 2026 budget, which includes strategic actions in housing and infrastructure in the Terres de l'Ebre region.

The agreement, signed at the Palau de la Generalitat, provides for a global investment of 2.5 billion euros in housing policies during the legislative term. Among the highlighted measures, a new law will be promoted to convert empty offices into Official Protection Housing (HPO), and a specific general directorate for discipline in this area will be created.
Regarding the Terres de l'Ebre, the pact includes relevant territorial commitments. It has been agreed to evaluate the advancement of the feasibility study for the tram-train to be completed by 2028 and to allocate 300,000 euros for the renovation of the parking lot and Plaça Alfons XII in Tortosa. In addition, the commitment to guarantee access to drinking water in Corbera d'Ebre and to promote the industrial estate of Bot is maintained.
The document also focuses on the fight against energy poverty with the creation of a Solidarity Care Fund and the strengthening of sexual and reproductive health care. Likewise, the creation of a General Commissariat for the Prevention and Reporting of Sexist Violence is planned before the middle of 2027.
