The program will kick off on Saturday, September 12, with the inauguration of the exhibition ‘The Adventures of Indiana Jones. Reality and Fiction’ at the Tortosa Museum. The exhibition, curated by journalist Jaume Palau, will explore the connections between the cinematic character and real archaeological expeditions, transporting attendees to iconic film locations.
The opening day will continue with the screening of the documentary ‘Adrift on the Amazon’, by Pol Ribera i Guàrdia, which narrates the adventure of three friends building a raft to navigate the river.
The festival dialogues travel cinema with culture, gastronomy, sustainability, and the discovery of new territories.
On Sunday, September 13, the Museum's Didactic Classroom will host finalist documentaries such as ‘The Stolen Hour’, focusing on sustainable tourism in Gran Canaria, and ‘Adictas a Ibiza (Rossana – La Abogada)’. The evening will be complemented by an Asian cinema session and a Sukomi dinner.
The week will continue with sessions dedicated to ethnography and society, exploring communities in Iceland, Japan, and Peru, as well as artistic trajectories marked by historical changes. Tuesday, September 15, will focus on adventures and expeditions with ‘EVEREST 1985: The First Catalans to Reach the Summit’ and ‘Spanish Olive Grove’, about the history of the olive tree in Spain.
Wednesday, September 16, will be dedicated to planetary preservation, with documentaries on species and ecosystem conservation, including ‘Canalla. El pom de dalt’, about the casteller tradition.
To celebrate the festival's 10th anniversary, the Casal Tortosí will host the immersive audiovisual and musical show ‘The Light Around the Corner’, a journey through ten years of stories, landscapes, and cultures via electronic music. The event, free entry with prior registration, will conclude the week of cinema and travel.
