The Tortosa City Council has unveiled the fifth edition of the 'Estiu a la Carta' program, offering over 50 activities for young people aged 12 to 15, expanding summer offerings with new initiatives for various age groups.

The Tortosa City Council has announced the fifth edition of the Estiu a la Carta program, designed for young people aged 12 to 15. This year, the initiative features over 50 activities throughout the summer, complementing the Youth Department's offerings, such as those at the Espai Jove Lo Carrilet for individuals aged 15 to 29, and summer camps for children and youth from three years old.
The program aims to provide diverse proposals combining leisure, recreation, sports, culture, health, creativity, new technologies, and emotional well-being, with the goal of supporting initiatives generated by young people themselves. The Estiu a la Carta program, supported by the Grup d’Esplai Blanquerna and other entities, will commence on June 29th and run until August 21st, with activities from Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 1 PM. Its unique feature is its participatory model, as activities are designed considering the opinions and interests of the youth.
Additionally, the Espai Jove Lo Carrilet will host L'Estiu Jove, offering activities and workshops for 15 to 29-year-olds every afternoon. A Guide to Summer Activities and Camps in Tortosa has also been compiled, detailing all summer proposals for children and youth aged three and above within the city and its five villages.
The Councilor for Youth, Víctor Grau, introduced the new Impulsa Jove project, aimed at supporting youth-led initiatives. Open to proposals from residents of Tortosa aged 16 to 30, the project seeks to transform ideas into tangible projects in areas such as culture, social action, leisure, and training. Selected projects may receive financial support of up to 2,000 euros and will be developed before the end of the year. Proposals can be submitted until September 1st.
Finally, the street performance 'Monòlegs a la Plaça' (Monologues in the Square) was announced, addressing homophobia and non-binarism. The performance, organized by the Cooperativa Nus Teatre, will take place on June 18th in the plaça de l’Absis and aims to foster reflection on gender-based violence in public spaces.
