“"The ACOL line promotes employment for one of the groups at highest risk of social exclusion, such as non-EU migrant individuals with temporary residence and work permits due to exceptional social roots. The program facilitates socio-labor integration and contributes to strengthening social cohesion and equal opportunities in the city."

The Tortosa City Council has joined the Servei Públic d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) ACOL program for the first time, enabling the hiring of nine vulnerable individuals for one year, with an investment of 320,829.06 euros.
This initiative, led by the municipal service Tortosactiva, is being implemented through collaboration with various social entities in the city: Càritas Diocesana de Tortosa, Grup Esplai Blanquerna, and Avantebre. The aid received will subsidize contracts, support, and training for the beneficiaries.
The contract distribution foresees Càritas incorporating four individuals, Grup Esplai Blanquerna two, Avantebre one, and the Tortosa City Council the remaining two. All nine individuals have already been hired, and the last one will start their position on Wednesday, April 1st.
For her part, the Councillor for Economic Promotion, Pilar Caballé, highlighted the importance of cooperation between public administration and third-sector entities to address complex challenges such as labor and social inclusion.
