The works, carried out by the municipal company Tortosasport, included the installation of a fitness container in the solarium and a full renovation of the indoor weight room. These improvements aim to provide a safer and more comfortable experience for users in Baix Ebre.
“"The renovation responds to the goal of adapting sports facilities to different user profiles and taking advantage of the potential of outdoor spaces."
A key highlight is the center's transformation into a Hyrox Training Club. As explained by the Sports Councilor, Jordi Jordan, this certification allows members to train specifically for this fitness racing modality, setting the complex apart from other local gyms.
The indoor renovation featured expanded equipment, specialized flooring, and a redesign of cardio and functional training zones. The expansion of the physical activity area will help reduce waiting lists and decongest the fitness room during peak hours.
In the coming months, the council plans to invest an additional 108,000 euros to replace guided strength and cardio machines. The older equipment will be repurposed for other municipal facilities and local sports organizations.
