The Tortosa City Council has nearly finished the redevelopment of Dolors Square in the Old Town, investing 62,387 euros to improve urban furniture and environmental conditions.

Mayor Mar Lleixà visited the site this February to inspect the new children's playground. The project included installing swings with safety rubber flooring and repairing damaged pavement. The design was coordinated with the Heritage Commission to ensure it fits the historic surroundings.
A key feature of the renovation is the planting of 15 plane trees, chosen for their low water consumption and ability to provide natural shade near the Marcel·lí Domingo Library. This initiative is part of a broader 25 million euro investment plan for the Historic City.
The works were carried out by Also Casals and represent a commitment to climate adaptation and urban improvement agreed upon by the municipal government and the CUP party.
