The Tortosa City Council has submitted formal environmental objections this February regarding a proposed biomethane plant project in the Campredó district, managed by SPV Bio Salas SL.

The municipal government is seeking to ensure total urban planning compatibility for the 8.5-hectare site located near the Catalunya Sud industrial estate. While supporting green energy, officials insist on rigorous legal and safety standards.

"We are in favor of renewable energies, but we demand maximum rigor and all environmental and safety guarantees."

Key concerns raised include the potential for a 'domino effect' in case of industrial accidents and the management of wastewater. The council has also requested specific studies on acoustic impact and odor control to protect the local community.
