The new official resolution confirms that Tortosa is no longer part of this classification. According to the analyzed data, the improvement in the rental market situation and the application of housing policies have allowed the municipality to be excluded from the list, unlike other locations that maintain the tense status.
On the other hand, Camarles is incorporated as a new tense zone, being the only municipality in the Ebre region added in this update. Globally, the number of people residing in these areas has decreased from 7 million to 6.1 million across the territory.
For a municipality to be considered a tense zone, it must meet requirements such as families spending more than 30% of their income on housing or prices having risen 3 points above the CPI in the last five years. In these zones, new rental contracts have price limitations linked to previous contracts or the reference index for large property owners.
