The Verge de la Cinta University Hospital in Tortosa successfully performed its first surgery using the Da Vinci robot this Tuesday, February 10th.

This historic milestone for healthcare in the Baix Ebre region involved a radical prostatectomy on a patient with prostate neoplasia. The procedure was led by Dr. Sònia Comí along with specialists Pablo Daniel Tobal and José Ramon Aleman.

"We have been able to perform movements with a precision impossible with traditional techniques, minimizing tissue damage."

The robotic system, installed last December, offers 3D visualization and reduces postoperative pain and infection risks, consolidating the hospital's position as a regional reference center.
