The Tortosa City Council has launched a new edition of the Treball als Barris employment workshop, providing jobs and training to ten local unemployed residents.

The program, which began on February 9, focuses on improving municipal sports facilities and historic landmarks. Participants over the age of 30 will work on sites such as the Sant Joan fortifications and the Tenasses Castle, performing masonry, painting, and landscaping tasks.
Managed by Tortosactiva and funded by the Public Employment Service of Catalonia, the initiative aims to boost professional skills. Key locations for the project include the sports pavilions in Ferreries, Remolins, and Temple, as well as rural areas like Vinallop.

"The workshop combines training and practical work with the aim of improving the professional qualifications of the participants."
