The Tortosa City Council has unveiled its 2026 budget proposal, which for the first time exceeds 100 million euros for the entire municipal group.

The municipal budget itself will rise to 52.3 million euros, an 8.85% increase from the previous year. Mayor Mar Lleixà described the accounts as 'historic and ambitious,' focusing on urban transformation without increasing taxes.
Key investments include 7.9 million euros for public works, including the regeneration of the Historic City and 1 million euros for housing policies. The budget also allocates funds for a new athletics track in Jesús and improvements to the Municipal Market.

"This budget puts people at the center of all our policies."
