The Tortosa City Council has presented the 29th edition of the Renaissance Festival, to be held from July 16th to 19th, with a special focus on the city's Renaissance arts in the 16th century.

The Renaissance Festival of Tortosa will celebrate its 29th edition from July 16th to 19th, featuring a poster designed by Cinta Segarra that highlights iconic festival figures, such as the giants, and the arts characteristic of the Renaissance period.
The mayor of Tortosa, Mar Lleixà, accompanied by the first deputy mayor, Jordi Jordan, and the Festival Director, Jordi Príncep, announced that this year's thematic focus will be ‘Renaissance Arts in 16th-Century Tortosa’. Lleixà emphasized that the program will highlight the architecture, music, and literature of the era, which established Tortosa as a significant cultural hub in the Crown of Aragon.
Internationally acclaimed illustrator Ignasi Blanch has been announced as the opening speaker for the 29th edition. According to the mayor, Blanch will bring his voice and sensitivity to the inaugural event, closely aligned with the thematic focus.
Councillor Jordi Jordan revealed that Tula Llorach, president of the Rastre Neighborhood Association and the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of Tortosa, will receive the Festival's Standard, recognizing the city's neighborhood and associative fabric.
Jordan also highlighted the success of the previous edition, which generated an economic impact of 7.7 million euros in Tortosa and 10 million in the Terres de l'Ebre region, according to a URV study. The study concluded that every euro invested returns 25 euros to the city and received highly positive feedback, particularly from visitors outside Catalonia.
As a prelude to the festival, the Historiographical Conferences will take place on July 2nd and 9th, aligning with the central theme of the 29th Renaissance Festival.
