The Tortosa City Council is set to approve its new Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) on March 2, outlining a 5.7 million euro investment strategy for the next six years.

The plan focuses on eight key areas, including the expansion of the bike lane network, the acquisition of new eco-friendly buses, and the pedestrianization of Avinguda de la Generalitat. Key infrastructure projects also include a new bridge connecting the Jesús and Remolins districts, aimed at optimizing traffic flow and safety across the city.

"We have not only incorporated the opinions of citizens and various groups but also taken into account the contributions of the opposition parties."

In addition to mobility, the upcoming council meeting will address changes to the city's street names. Notable updates include renaming Plaça Barcelona to Plaça del Mercat and Parc de la Fira to Rafel Vidiella. These changes are part of a broader initiative to promote democratic memory and gender equality within Tortosa's urban landscape.
