Mayor Mar Lleixà presented Tortosa's 2026 budget this March, totaling 52.3 million euros, which represents a significant 8.85% increase compared to the previous year.

For the first time, the city's consolidated budget, including municipal companies like Tortosa Salut and GESAT, will exceed 100 million euros. The investment chapter sees a massive 72.44% boost, reaching nearly 8 million euros for local projects.
Key projects include the Jesús athletics track (1.7 million euros) and the Josepets artistic center. The budget also allocates 1 million euros for housing policies, following negotiations with the CUP party. The final vote is scheduled for March 31st.
