The Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) has awarded 153 grants totaling 13.07 million euros to local entities to boost the construction and improvement of the waste collection center network during 2024.

The final resolution of this call, which amounts exactly to €13,072,095.15, aims to improve municipal waste management and advance towards a more efficient and sustainable model. The funds allow financing up to 100% of the subsidized projects within the established maximum amounts.
Of the 153 approved grants, 33 will be allocated to the construction of new facilities, while the remaining 120 will be used to carry out improvements in already operational waste collection centers. For new centers, priority has been given to those serving populations that previously lacked service or improving their proximity.
Regarding actions in existing facilities, the ARC has especially valued proposals that include improvements in safety, risk prevention, accessibility, and quality in waste management.
Territorially, the investment has a notable impact on the Terres de l'Ebre region, where 22 municipalities will receive aid. Within this area, Baix Ebre stands out with 21 approved projects, significantly reinforcing its waste management infrastructure.
